Colourful and impressive place to get a grasp of the Buddhist belief system - even as a tourist you feel greatly welcome and are free to roam the five floors including a museum and of course the relic shrine on the fourth floor. Entering the temple you may listen to the chants of the Buddhist community in the Hundreds Dragon Hall on the ground floor. Go and take a good look at the hundred different Buddha statues lining the wall - amazing craftsmanship. The heart of the temple is of course the tooth relic and located in the Sacred Light Hall. You are instructed to take off your shoes but then may enjoy an extremely peaceful atmosphere. Last but not least don’t miss out on the small but serene rooftop garden which also houses the largest Buddha prayer wheel in the world. You may try it out! Free entry, but donations are greatly appreciated. If you get hungry you may look out for the various (vegetarian) eateries around. This beautiful temple (est. in 2002) definitely is the highlight of every Chinatown tour in Singapore.

I had wanted to visit this temple ever since I saw it on a friend's post. It actually looked smaller compared to the photos I have seen. The architecture is stunning. The interior is equally amazing and the artwork and pieces exhibited within are breathtaking. It is quite easy to get to after a brief stroll from the Chinatown MRT.

Superb location to visit and deceptively large. As a wheelchair user I also found this a very accessible location with large lifts and ramps, I could even access the roof garden with a chair lift. Every floor has treasures to see. Please visit respectfully, amazing place.
